I am passionate and committed to guiding and coaching people to thrive. Fonda specializes in meeting people where they are at in life, using in-vivo opportunities to develop a flexible mindset and resiliency and coaching them to take positive and progressive steps to move forward in life.

  • Intergenerational family and/or cultural trauma, especially in communities of color

  • Recovering from:

    • Relationship and life traumas, especially those stemming from dysfunctional family dynamics and traumatic invalidation

    • Emotional reactivity contributing to unstable relationship patterns

    • Suicidal and self-harm ideations and behaviors

  • Relationship and couples counseling

    • To improve communication skills and approach conflict more effectively, especially in couples with high conflict and couples impacted by PTSD

    • To address affairs and infidelity

  • Parent coaching

    • To develop parenting strategies for teens and young adults with emotional sensitivity and emotional reactivity

  • Care management

    • ​Stabilizing mental and emotional problems related to depression and anxiety, including, but not limited to, severe and persistent psychiatric disorders (such as bipolar and other psychotic disorders)

    • Providing consultation for long-term treatment and care to families and caregivers who have loved ones with severe and persistent mental health conditions, such as Schizophrenia​


  • Intensively trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy through the Gottman Institute

  • Intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through Behavioral Tech/Psychwire

  • Additional research-informed approaches include: Emotion Focused Therapy for Individuals and Couples, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Provided suicide intervention and consultation to medical providers across the Southern California service region

  • Provided telephonic suicide prevention & intervention, crisis-oriented interventions and brief solutions-focused counseling to patients in psychiatric and emotional crisis.

  • Redesigned and developed the Case Management Program in the South Bay service area to treat members with complex and severe mental health issues complicated by primary health, economic and psychosocial factors, incorporating recovery-oriented principles and prompting holistic health and wellness

Oct 2011 - Sep 2016

Served the most vulnerable populations in Los Angeles County through contracted programs of the Department of Mental Health, working directly with individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, incarceration, and/or chronic health problems
