Delivering Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy prudently requires practitioners to participate in weekly professional and confidential consultations. The primary purpose of this is to support therapists to maintain their adherence to DBT principles, skills, and techniques. As well, the consultation team serves as “therapy for the therapist,” providing guidance, support, and accountability to ensure effective treatment.
